Beyoncé covers Paul McCartney and Dolly Parton in new Country Album “Cowboy Carter”

In her eighth studio album, Cowboy Carter, Beyoncé paid tribute to musical legends Paul McCartney and Dolly Parton with covers of “Blackbird” and “Jolene”.

Paul McCartney shared in an instagram post how happy he was with Beyoncé’s version of his song and how it reinforces the civil rights message that inspired him to write the song in the first place.

“Blackbiird” by Beyoncé uses the master recording of the original guitar and foot-tapping Paul recorded for the Beatles’ White Album.

Among the 27 tracks of Cowboy Carter is Beyoncé’s cover of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene”, with an intro interlude by “Dolly P” herself.

Two years ago in an interview with Trevor Noah, Dolly Parton mentioned that she wanted Beyoncé specifically to cover Jolene, that she “would just love to hear ‘Jolene’ done in just a big way”.

Dolly certainly got her wish, and expressed her love and approval in an instagram post.

Cowboy Carter also highlighted renowned country music stars Willie Nelson and Linda Martell, as well as included duet performances with Miley Cyrus, and Post Malone.

Joining the list in 2024 is Rod Stewart and Jools Holland with their version off their latest swing record “Swing Fever”.

But they weren’t the only ones feeling in love. Bleachers, the band project of Jack Antonoff, released their version among the soundtrack of the Apple TV+ series “The New Look”.

Bruce Springsteen Plays 32 Songs in 3+ Hour Show

After his peptic ulcer disease postponed his 2023 tour, Bruce Springsteen is making an energetic 2024 return. He’s already guest starred on Curb Your Enthusiasm with Larry David and performed alongside Maggie Rogers at Zach Bryan's show in Brooklyn.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band started their two-night headlining streak in Los Angeles with a 35-song setlist, and a spotlight on Bruce. The three-and-a-half hour show began at 7:54pm with Bruce’s signature “1, 2, 3, 4”.
