Las Vegas’ “The Sphere” Welcomes Eagles

Quickly rising to the top of performers and concert-goers “bucket list venues”, The Sphere brings a whole new meaning to “immersive performance”.

The $2.3 billion venue has 1.2 million programmable LEDs and the highest resolution screen in the world. The unparalleled experience has welcomed U2, Phish, and are currently hosting Dead & Company.

So who is slated to perform next?

Eagles

Taking a break from their “Farewell Tour” with Steely Dan, Eagles are giving weekend performances at The Sphere in September and October. Tickets to later shows are yet to go on sale, but the current price for available tickets are $1,130. đŸ˜±

Steep price, I know
but can you imagine experiencing Hotel California in the Sphere? What other Eagles tracks would you want to experience? Let us know by leaving a comment or replying to this email.

“Don’t Stop Believin” Was Almost Cut Short

Can you imagine a world where Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” was any different? If the chorus started before 3:21, or didn’t have the iconic riff?

“Some of the greatest songs come from nowhere and they happen very quickly
”

Neal Schon

Journey’s label originally wanted them to cut down the length of the track, claiming that it wouldn’t perform well being “too long for radio”, a problem even Queen ran into with “Bohemian Rhapsody”.

Jokes on them.

The 18-times certified platinum single is officially the biggest song of all time, at 4 minutes and 11 seconds. We wouldn’t have wanted it any other way!

“South Detroit” via Maps

Another consideration of the smash hit is the illusive “South Detroit”.

Looking at a map, you can see that Detroit doesn’t necessarily have a clearly defined “South” area. In fact, some might argue that “South Detroit” is closer to Canada than Detroit itself. So why use that as the lyric?

Because it feels right, even if it’s geographically wrong.

Can you imagine a world where the lyric is “born and raised in East Detroit” or “North Detroit”. I certainly can’t, but

If you had to pick a different Detroit...
